'Cause I wanna be dancin' all night long

Planning for my Thirtieth has been very indecisive to say the least. Here were some of the ideas I had come up with:

Dance Central themed party
Restaurant crawl at Bridgestreet w/ a night at the Westin
Costume themed party
Hotel party in duplex type room plus kitchen
Overnight stay in another city (b-ham, atl, DISNEY!)
VEGAS! (yeah, uh no. I wish.)

So after much thought and random spouting of ideas (much to S's dismay (the spouting not the final decision.)) I've decided to do what I like (duh!) and eat my favorite dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant where they serve one of my favorite drinks, MARGARITAS (who knew??). I was still leaning towards going to a hotel afterwards just to get out of the house but you know what? That just seems like so much more hassle than I want to deal with. Getting everything ready to take there, setting up there, repacking everything up and loading it back into the car, unloading it back into the house and then staring at it stacked up on the kitchen/dining room floor. Yeah.. no. We'll just save ourselves that $130 and pretty up our house and have everyone come to us. I say "everyone" but watch it just be my bff, her bf, my SIL and my BIL oh and S =) which I'm realizing really wouldn't be that bad. I think I felt if we got a hotel there was so much more to expect and I didn't want to worry about other people's expectation on my birthday celebration. If I have it at home (where most people have already seen my lackluster decor and such) I can comfortably drink, eat and dance like a fool.

So as a reminder to all birthday planners of their own birthdays everywhere: DO WHAT YOU LIKE! If you want to stuff your gut with Mexican deliciousness then DO IT. You want to have fancy-ish drinks (see: not beer) then DRINK THEM. Dance like a wannabe breakdancer/raver? BRING IT!

For some reason this song is now in my head. Enjoy =)

Play, come on, play that song
Play it all night long
Just turn it up and turn me on
Play, come on DJ
Play that song
You know that it turns me on
DJ just play that song
'Cause I wanna be dancin' all night long
Play, Jennifer Lopez circa 2001 (ELEVEN years ago.. Gah! I'm getting old.)

And I'm back.. on track =)

Down 3.6 pounds! Yes!

Isn't it funny when you actually follow the plan you get the right results? I'm basically back at my ww goal weight but I'm hoping to surpass that and hit my "original goal" by my birthday. I have 4-5 weeks to lose another 5+ pounds so send me some good thoughts!

Yesterday my ww leader told us to come up with a goal we want to achieve by Labor Day. Well, I have a lofty goal of getting to my "ultimate goal" weight but I figure as long as I'm under 130 I'll be happy. This will be especially amazing since I plan to eat and drink A LOT for my 30th =)

My birthday is actually on a Tuesday so we'll be celebrating on the Saturday before. I know I want to eat my Mexican love ~ Tacos al Carbon.. Mmmmmmm! So yummy. With cheese and sour cream, thank you very much. I think I also want some sushi at some point maybe for dinner on my actual birthday? A custard filled chocolate glazed doughnut would be delicious and I actually just thought about getting up the morning after all of the drinking and getting Eggs Blackstone at Another Broken Egg, soooo good! (Good thing I plan on running a 5k the morning of the celebration, huh? Maybe I should have made it a half marathon with all of the points+ laden food I want!)

With my 30th approaching I've been thinking about starting a list of Things I Want To Do: My First Year of Thirty. (Might need a shorter name.) I was inspired by a high school friend who completed 29 of her 30 things she wanted to do in 3 months before her 30th. I figured if I tried to do that with my birthday fast approaching I was totally setting myself up for disappointment and that's no way to start a new year. Instead I want to give myself a full year to complete a list that will include: zip lining, running a 10k, read/listen to more books, skiing, try new recipes, perfect specialties, etc. I'll have a more concrete list shortly since I only have 35 days until my year officially begins =)

The Plan

Since I'm not actively running right now I've lowered my daily points back down to 26 from 29. I've had to modify serving sizes to accomadate this itty bitty number but I'm making it work! My main plan is to actually follow the ww plan =) I mean it works so if I could just follow it then everything will be right with the world.

So that's 26 pt+ per day, at least 2 bottles of water (33.8oz/1L) but strive for 3, lots of fruits and veggies, lower carb intake and track, track, track!

I'm on day 4 of Getting Back on Track and I'm feeling pretty darn good. Last night, I made teriyaki meatloaf, corn casserole and (heated up) greens for dinner. Made my yummy pizza dough crust for Friday, baked cookies for one of N's teachers who is leaving =( and cleaned up the kitchen. I was superwoman/mom! I had been feeling sluggish and cranky which I can see now was a result of my crappy eating habits. Ya think?!

I'm not too focused on exercise at this moment since it's just not my main concern.. I'm in a non-running rut and not feeling Jillian right now. I am wondering about picking up a yoga dvd at the library and giving that a go. I know I've done the ww plan before without exercise and it works so I'm not really worried about not losing weight but I am looking for that one activity that really brings me joy. I have a love-hate relationship with running and I'm always having to psych myself up for it. I mean some days are better than others and I can't wait to tie up my shoes but most days it just seems like a chore. I want to find that one sport/hobby/activity that totally hooks me and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again. Right now, I'm thinking horseback riding and yoga are possible contenders. Unfortunately, riding lessons are very expensive. I looked up one place in town and it was $35 per hour so for a month that would cost me $140! And that's only if I was riding for one hour per week.. so yeah, no riding lessons right now. Yoga on there other hand is relatively cheap if I go the dvd route. Even if I attended actual classes I think it was about $15-$20 per class as a walk-in. I also like the fact that yoga claims to help you connect with yourself. Physically and spiritually. Anyway, I'll probably check out some dvd's and let you know how it goes from there.

What's going on?

Well, for starters I have sunburn/heat rash from hell. Ugh, it's so nasty and I was completely miserable this past weekend. I couldn't even cuddle with my little munchkin and I think it was giving us both withdrawal symptoms.

I haven't run in about two weeks and now with the above mentioned rash I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon. Tight clothes (ie. sports bras) are not my friend right now. Bras in general are a no go and believe me that's a travesty.

I have less than 6 weeks before my 30th birthday and I'm nowhere near my goal.. who knew maintenance/additional weight loss was such a bee-otch.

Three year olds are.. well, if you have children I'm sure you already know. Especially three year old BOYS. I'm really only guessing on the boys because N is still (mostly) a sweetheart. She's slowly showing signs of the impending Terrible Two's but I still have hope that she won't have a full fledged case of the TT's.

On a positive note, we just made our mortgage ~$200 less a month!!! Woohoo for refinancing! We've stayed on budget 95% of the time and with the new "extra" money we'll be able to pay more toward our debt.

I'm still hoping to payoff our debt by the end of 2014. Just in time to save some money for a decent down payment (plus whatever we can get out of our current home) and move into a bigger house in a better neighborhood by the school year of 2015.

So that's what's going on in a nutshell.

I'll be back (promise!) to give a break down of my plan to at least be back at my Original Goal Weight by my birthday =)
