2010 Finale

Well, I had a baby!

Little girl N was born November 24th at 6:23pm (Yes, the day before Thanksgiving!). Contractions started around 8am and progressively got stronger making it "for real" labor! I called S and told him to come home and get me to the hospital =) When the nurse checked me I was about 4.5cm so I decided to see how far I could go without an epi. I was 6cm at the next check and agreed to get a drug that would make the contractions (supposedly/supposebly) more bearable. It mostly just made me relax more but the contractions were just as strong. At 8cm I was still hanging in there. At 9-9.5cm I asked my nurse about the possibility of getting an epi. She didn't recommend it since it might not kick-in on time or it could slow my progress down. So.. I went epi-free! And was it ever painful! Once we started pushing the doc actually said, "Stop yelling and start pushing!" LOL! I'm a little embarrassed about that but still feel pretty proud. The best part of going epi-free is the day after I didn't even feel like I had a baby the day before. It was crazy how good I felt. After D was born I thought I would feel broken forever. Also, let me mention my girl is almost a POUND more than my son. How crazy is that? He was born the day after his due date and she came the day before hers.

I am currently not working and watching both kids. It's only my second day by myself and I think it's going well. My big accomplishment yesterday was my shower =) My mom was here since the Friday before Thanksgiving and S took off when she left. Thankfully, both kids seem to take their afternoon nap around the same time. Watching her in the swing right now and I think I might actually get to shower today too! Score!

S is finally on board with the budget. I guess having only one check coming in does that to a person. I'm still hoping that "perfect" job will show itself sometime but if not I guess this will be my life. I'll let you know how I really feel about that in a couple of weeks.

S and I have semi-agreed that N will be our last child. At least for the next few years. Knowing that, I'm very excited to get back to my pre-pre-pregnancy weight. I had about 10lbs more to lose before I got pregnant with N. Right now I have about 30lbs to lose. I'm actually hoping to lose a little more than that ;P Weight Watchers is going to be my plan and adding walking to my daily schedule. Eventually, walking should turn into running but lets not get too ahead of ourselves shall we?

My goals for 2011 include:
  • Weight loss (30lbs)
  • Follow a family budget
  • Be a better mom, wife and daughter
  • Have more patience with my children, husband and others
  • Fully organize my home
Hope you and yours have a fantastic New Year!
